I generate a weekly inventory report for my store in a specific format. I have some fields that are required by the retailer that just need to be filled in. I just leave the search field blank and include a replace value. In the past, this has worked fine. Today when I ran the report I got an error: "Vendor, number of initial and replacements values is not same! I last ran the report unchanged last Tuesday, so something seems to have changed between then and now.

Never mind. We had work on that indeed. We never had in mind that somebody had such use of it. 
We returned this behavior back.

Just to be sure:

If search is empty replace will be applied to empty values
If search is * it will replace all no matter what
